* Use a web authoring program
(a) Dreamweaver - Macromedia
(b) Go live - Adobe
(c) Front Page - Microsoft
* The web uses HTML (Hypertext markup language) which is a reduced set of commands from a previously existing programming language
* To improve the effectiveness of web page design new features/extensions have been added to current version of most web browsers such as:
-Support for
-DHTML
-Java Script
-Flash Player
*The use of layers is an improvement on using tables for page layout on the web
*Planning for web design includes
-Navigation design (How a user gets around)
-Information Design (What sections you have)
-Layout Design (How it looks - Visual Impact & Effectiveness)
*Web information must be all saved into a single folder (site folders). Sub-folders are permitted but the files cannot be moved after design or links will be broken.
*Browsers are used to read web pages:
-Explorer
-Mozilla
-Opera
-Safari
-Firefox
*Search Engine
-Google - Web Crawling
-Altavista - Database
